Illumination Redux
For our first Relay on the new GCGC forum we will harken back to the first Relay held on the original GCGC forum back in 2008. Like the first relay that commemorated Mallock's first find of a Therapaint hide that took three visits to uncover, this one will additionally commemorate TermiteHunter's first find of a gbmcache cache that took nine days of investigation before the light came on.
The Basics
- There will be 2 Relay containers in play (Mallock & TermiteHunter)
- Get the coordinates here in the Relay forum
- The containers must be hidden with an existing LPC style cache
- Find one of the containers
- Sign the log, note the password from the previous hider and add a new password
- Re-hide the container at another LPC style cache site
- Return to the Relay forum and post your find including the container name, previous hiders password and new coordinates
- Start over with the other Relay container
Starting with the password.
1) The password must be the name of a member of the New GCGC forum. You can click the "Members" list at the top of the forum for a current list of those eligible.
2) No member name may be used on an individual container if that name was used as any of the previous 4 passwords for that container. 5th is OK.
2) If the finder of a container is the same as the password the finder gains additional points in the contest.
Hides
1) Each hide must be placed in the same location as an existing cache already listed.(see also 1a below) No new hides that are not currently listed may be used. Previously unfound listings are fine (like there are any)
1a) Alternately an existing Munzee located on a lamp post is acceptable provided an appropriate hiding place for the container is available (see 3 below)
2) No Premium Member Only (or similar for Munzee) caches may be used for placement. This would not allow all players the possibility of a find.
3) Each hide of the Relay container must be of the standard LPC variety. The associated cache listing need not be hidden there but must be on the Lamp Post, the Relay container must be hidden in the traditional manner.
Finders Duty
1) Re-hide the container as quickly as possible. Hides should be made the same day if at all possible.
2) Assure that you have the previous hiders password and have used an appropriate member name password from the new forum.
3) You may find either container at any time provided that you did not hide it last.
4) Do not collude with other members in password selection. Please no teamwork sequential finds.
5) After finding the container mark the hiding spot with the included chalk with an "X" so that others will know it has been found and is not missing.
6) Post your find and re-hide coordinates as quickly as possible on the Relay forum.
7) Your forum post should include: Found (Mallock or TermiteHunter) Password (previous hiders password) Coordinates (where you hid it) {You may include the cache it is associated with if you wish}. Points (1 point per find, 4 points if you were also the password)
8) Confirm your password provided in the next finders post.
General
Participants need not wait for confirmation of the previous finders password before making the next find.
Relay containers must remain in the GCGC territory.
Passwords should be selected with intent to win. You might not want to use a member that is participating already or you might want to reward / taunt them should they continue to play. That's up to you. Just don't work with others to "game" the system.
Post your find and re-hide as quickly as possible. we should be able to make more than a single find on a container in a day. (I remember multiple finds in the first Relay on a single container, Let's do that again)
Initially there will be a few OCNA 5th Anniversary pathtags in each container. Take one if you don't already have it for your collection. Leave the rest for future finders.
Winner of the prixe to be determined by the usual drawing. Chance of winning based on number of moves by individuals in the Relay.
Relay ends 4/30/2017 midnight. All relay posts must be made before this time.
Rules subject to change as the game progresses
