Fantastic 5 Contest

Here's how it works:

THE EASY RULES:



Every Week (Sunday to Saturday), just find a cache and enter it here with its stats.  You earn one point each week for participating, and bonuses for each of the "Fantastic Five" stat categories your cache "wins" below:

* Youngest (Newest cache, most recently published will win this category)
* Oldest (Oldest cache, published longest ago will win this category)
* Loneliest (Cache with longest time since last find will win this category)
* Most Favorites (Cache with most Favorites will win this category)
* Most Found (Cache with most "Found it" logs will win this category)

You may submit ONLY ONE CACHE each week (Sunday - Saturday).
Your contest entry of a specific cache must be on the same day (within reason) of the cache's find.  Entries of caches with log finds not in the current contest week (Sunday-Saturday) will be DISQUALIFIED.   Please try to find and enter the same day.

POINTS AND SCORING:



A GCGC Lackey will calculate and post updated scores each week - probably updating scores on each Sunday for the previous week, ending Saturday at Midnight.  

You will get 1 point for your entry, plus 1 point for every category you win. 

NO POINTS WILL BE GIVEN FOR A CATEGORY WITH A TIE!  For example, if two or more people enter the same cache as a find, and that cache is the oldest cache found based on all the entries, NO POINTS will be given for the "OLDEST" cache.  If two or more people enter caches with the same amount of FAVORITES, NO POINTS will be give for the cache with "MOST FAVORITES".  

If two or more people enter the same cache, no bonuses are available for that cache - that cache is worth one point for the participants that enter it.

NOTE:  First To Finds (you find a cache first after publish) will NOT count for the Loneliest Bonus.  While technically not found in "infinite" days, the Loneliest Bonus MUST have a previous finder before you.


PRIZE and PRIZE DISTRIBUTION:



The prize for "winning" this contest is a VINTAGE 2010 Unactivated GCGC Geocoin:

At the end of the contest, a winner will randomly be chosen based on the amount of points scored throughout the contest.  Your chances of winning will be equal to the points you score.  For example, if "Cacher1" scores 2 points during the contest and "Cacher2" scores 10 points during the contest, Cacher 1 will have 2 entries in the random drawing and Cacher2 will have 10 entries in the coin drawing.

The Coin Drawing will take place after the contest is over, after May 30.  





MORE RULES:


If you want to submit another cache / edit your entry, the BEST method is to DELETE your previous log and enter your latest find that you think is a better entry as a new post.  To do this:

* Click the gear icon at the top of your last entry and select DELETE POST.

* Then post your current find as a new post to the thread.


If you are not computer savvy enough to link to the cache(s) you found, just list the name. That'll work for me.



If your entry does not contain all the necessary information (hidden date, number of finds, number of favorites, etc), it will not be eligible for points in that category. 


Any cache, anywhere can be an entry... in any state, on any geocaching service (Geocaching / Opencaching)

Please only one entry per week.  If you find another cache, feel free to edit your entry to update to the newer find.

LONELIEST: will be determined by "LAST FOUND" date of the cache. We will use the logs in order as seen on the cache page. The find date DIRECTLY BELOW YOUR FIND DATE will be used to determine the Loneliest cache (not found the longest period of time). Even if you cache in a group, only the group member directly above the oldest find will get credit for finding the "Loneliest" cache.



Your Cache Find Date and Contest Entry Date MUST BE THE SAME.  Do not use old cache finds in this contest.

Contest winner will be determined from a web-based random number generator.
