The GCGC needs new members....
To create discussionTo compete in contests and games
To ask questions answered by you
We are only as active as you make us and new members add to the potential for new discussion and contribution to the discussion.
When you visit it helps if you actually say something in the forum. A visit is great but a comment is what keeps us alive.
New members offer a chance to have another voice. Maybe they need help, maybe they are new and have no idea how to approach a particular cache.
Help by letting others know we are here.
So you got a new log on your cache... from a local that is not a member of the GCGC.
Don't let that opportunity go unnoticed.
Send them a message. Make it short so they might read it.
Thank them for finding your cache and take the opportunity to tell them about the GCGC
I do this regularly. Granted I get few that actually join but it does happen.
A simple short message introducing yourself as the owner of the cache they recently found with a link to the GCGC and a comment about the most recent contest does wonders.
As a note: GC will not allow 3rd party links in a mesage (at least for reg members) but "thegcgc dot freeforums dot net" will work.
Tell them it's free to join and that the site looks and functions better for members.
You are submitting a new cache to any site.
Add a GCGC banner or link.
You can find banners and logos in our Photo Gallery.
Let them know you are a member of the GCGC. They just might click it or look into what that banner was all about.
It worked to get cash108 to investigate a broken link. It will work for others.
It works in person too. Tell others you are a member.
Encourage them to join or at least look us up.
