Navicache is dead in the water. Promised revitalization appears non-existaant.
I made a short vistit to the GPS games Geocaches section.
Seems there are few and most were of their photo spot version
I even found one of mine that has long since been retired. I need to see what I can do to remove it.
So it appears that OCNA and Terracaching are the only contenders in the alternative caching arena with GPS Games a distant variation that is still in play.

For us there is the very local option of VRC as an option.
Few and far between but the German OpenCaching site Opencaching.DE lists a handful of (mostly virtual) caches in countries outside Europe including USA and Canada. They also have locationless caches (called Safari caches). There might be the odd moving cache listed on any of the OC nodes and hidden anywhere.
Other OpenCaching nodes (UK, Romania, Netherlands, Poland) have a decent number of listings in their respecting regions and I think maybe the occasional cache far from their core regions. Typically placed or hidden by players while on vacation.
One easy way to check for all OpenCaching (all regional nodes) caches in any country is to use Flopp's Map with the "Geocaches (Opencaching)" option enabled flopp.net/?c=39.055928:-100.567864&z=5&t=OSM&f=g&m=&d= (currently looks like OCNA listings are not showing the map - they used to - will have to look into that - but it does make it easier to spot the OC.de etc caches in NA). I see a few dozen scattered around the USA
