I know there are at least a few car guys / gals out there.
Watchgot?
I liked the muscle cars of the 70's but never had one. Probably never will now.
My first car (mine, not the family car I drove) was a 1977 Chevy Nova. The closest I got to a muscle car.
It had the name but it also had too many portals (4 doors) and an inline six with three in the tree. (3 speed operated with a shifter on the steering column for you younger members)
What do I really end up with as my daily driver in the mid to late '80's? Anti Muscle......
Why a VW Beetle of course.
Dad had a '64 that was replaced with a '67 so I bought a 1966 Beetle for $400. (my first computer cost more purchased about the same time for $500 used)
Still had the Nova for a while but I eventually sold it to a friend.
The 1966 was never in great shape but looked good at 20 paces. I repaired and replaced what was needed. Converted to 12 volts (was 6)
Deterioration has kept pace with my repairs but it still looks good at 20 paces and is affectionately known as DEATH TRAP.
My dad gifted the 1967 Beetle to me after a less than perfect 6 year restoration complete with the car disappearing at one point and lawyers getting involved.
I now have both the 1966 and the 1967. We replaced the family car (Chrysler 300M) with ...you guessed it ...a 2012 VW Beetle retro styled.
Now the NCS says she understands why I would never sell the '66.
These look a little weird because they are photos of photos. I couldn't get to the ones on my cloud storage .
This is the 1966 (Death Trap)

And this is the 1967

I'll work on getting better pics of these and the 2012.
I have lots of pics. Inside and out. In three car groups with the entire family of bugs.
Here is a two door 1977 Nova I found a few years ago nearly identical to my four door.
