I have really gotten in to Forged In Fire lately (even the NCS)
For those that have not seen it.
It is a forging competition to create a blade of some sort. Four contestants create a blade within specified parameters in stage 1. One is eliminated.
Stage two they complete the blade with handles and fixing problems from the first stage and then compete in cutting and strength tests eliminating another.
The two remaining go to their home forge to create an Iconic weapon of the past that is subjected to strength and sharpness tests.
I find this an interesting competition that I think even I could compete in after watching several episodes.
I knew the basics (for some reason) but have actually learned a lot from watching.
I even looked into how much it might cost to get a decent setup to start forging.
If it was not for "the Scald"(bad timing), the NCS and a lack of space I would love to do this as a hobby.
Much like brewing there are all sorts of levels to entry.
A winner in the first season forged his winning blade with a charcoal forge in a pan (and an added satellite dish for the iconic weapon for size) hooked to a blow dryer and hammered everything by hand.
Others have all that money can buy and still lose/
Basic forging equipment can be had for a decent price to get started on Amazon.
I have been watching this on True TV 14.6 OTA
I found it on Pluto (couldn't get it to work as on demand)
and on Roku TV where I was able to watch on demand from season 1. ( I started on OTA TV at season 6 or 7)
After you have watched it you will have a new catch phrase to use...
IT WILL KEALLL (It will Kill)
Are there by chance any that forge out there?
