My days of caching are limited. Given my travels mostly in Mecklenburg I find few exciting caches to seek.
I have found new meaning in hiding once again. I tend to hide rather than find and my stats show it.
I have far fewer finds than most "active" cachers with my time in the game.
I had been more involved in running the GCGC and OCNA but that time is passed with The Dimming of the GCGC and limited activity on OCNA.
I have made my mark in what was my favorite park over the years, Idlewild Park, but with the introduction of Purser Hulsey I have made it my mission to claim this park as my own.
There was already a single cache there. Nothing special but misleading enough for most. It is already showing wear from being outside, perhaps it will survive my encroachment.
I have placed 9 in the park so far with an expectation of 12 total TermiteHunter caches that should fill the park given proximity rules.
I have at least a couple more ideas in the works to fill those remaining voids.
If I get lucky and the only other non-TH cache goes missing or suffers some other issue, I will be quick to fill that spot as well.
Purser-Hulsey IS @TermiteHunter Park at this point. It will eventually be filled entirely with my own caches (except for the one for now)
I tried to give each a unique touch.
Crafty to devious. Most are simple enough. They work for all cachers at all levels of experience.
There is a night cache, a day or night cache for all ages, a scary one and a crafty one, a challenging one, a 3D printed one and an invisible one. All using different styles and methods.
A variety to please all. Each is unique and none are just a box in the woods. They should survive future development but it is possible a few may be lost as the park grows.
If you have some time, check out @TermiteHunter Park for an all around good time well into the evening.

I really like this idea of parks dedicated to a single hider. Others may feel that it is monopolizing an area...and it is.
But think about it for a minute. What could YOU do if you had a park all your own to hide caches in?
I am encouraging another hider from my time to do the same with a similar park earlier in development.
If you are a hider and can find a reasonable area of open space, take it as your own and do the same.
I find myself there fairly often. Seeing what can be done and checking my caches. This makes maintenance a breeze when they are in a confined space even for those deep in the woods.
Nothing like seeing a bunch of stars on the map in a nice cluster. I dare say it is better than all those random yellow smiles smattered about gowning thinner as you move away from your central location.
And the logs... With caching down in general, logs are few and far between sometimes. With a cluster in a single location I tend to get a few at a time or better yet, every cache in the area is found.
When they realize that they were all different, unique and worth the visit but hidden by the same CO, you get even better commentary on your hides.
While Idlewild Park is the Geocaching center of the universe (for Mecklenburg anyway), Purser-Hulsey is the TermiteHunter Black Hole at it's center.
Step into the darkness and find a variety of caches that should provide a unique experience that just might make caching boring when you go beyond the event horizon into the real world.
I hope you too will find a spot to call your own and show what you can do as a hider.
